ESG – Food Court Plaza

Typology: Commercial

Location: Goa

Built-up Area:

Status: completed: Completed

As an architectural firm, we have increasingly felt the importance of using our expertise to give back to society. This conceptual work for the design of the Food court Plaza was the first of numerous such initiatives we took up in partnership with Architect D. Fernandes.  The Old GMC complex in Panaji housing the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) has a triangular open plaza which is facing the busy Mandovi river promenade and central to the Old GMC building and Maquinez palace. Despite its prime location, this space is only used as a thoroughfare. With events such as the International Film Festival being hosted in these premises, we felt the need to make the place that can be used by people in general. As such we shared our observations and design to the authorities for perusal. It was important to us that we express our ideas and share the same as our duty without letting the outcome affect our zest.
